Since we opened in July we’ve had lots of people enquiring about when we would be releasing some more course dates.  Well, we’re excited to say that our booking system is now fully up and running so we have released all our course dates for the first quarter of 2013.

That’s right, there are courses available in January, February, March and April and you can now book online!

All you have to do is choose a course date, fill out the booking information and then make your payment online – you’ll be taken through the process from start to finish.

Right now we’re only taking bookings from people on our mailing list, but in a few days we’ll open the calendar up to everyone.  So, if you’re on our mailing list then what are you waiting for? And if not, well you’ll have to sit tight for just a little while longer.

Everyone meet Sam, 19, our new apprentice.

Sam was one of the crowd-funding backers who pledged their time to help get things started. He painted and plastered and enjoyed himself so much that he asked if he could work off the cost of a frame-building course.

Well, we were so impressed by Sam’s attitude and how quickly that he picked up new skills that we offered him a job as our apprentice.

Sam takes care of all the course material prep, he keeps the workshop stocked and is learning to braze, build frames and operate tooling. He’s been with us for a couple of months now, and we’re excited to start him on his first proper project – to refurbish and get to grips with his new (old) Colchester Bantam lathe…

That’s why we teach the way we do. Our courses are designed to teach you the practical skills and understanding that you need to be able to really practice.

You’ll make a frame from start to finish, we’ll teach you ‘why’, ‘how’ and ‘what if’, so that you can do things for yourself. We think that means far more than walking away with a frame at the end of the week.

And don’t forget, unlike any other frame-building school, you can use our workshop to practice or build more frames whenever you like.
