Last week I built my first ever lugged bicycle frame and forks – a classic audax frame made from Columbus Spirit tubing.
I built the frame at Downland Cycles in Canterbury under the tuition of Bryan Jackson and Martyn Hay. I first met Bryan at last year’s Bespoked Bristol where he pre-booked 2 fillet brazing course places at The Bicycle Academy with Brian Curtis, and they kindly offered me a place on one of their courses too.
While we’ll be teaching beautiful fillet brazing at The Bicycle Academy we also plan to offer lugged courses before too long, and will stock a range of lugs for people to practice on and build frames with also.
